Joy for Johnny at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church

Joy for Johnny is run by volunteers at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church and welcomes volunteers from throughout the community to assist in our evenings. We are always looking for additional volunteers to help as one-on-one buddies, assistants with arts and crafts or games, or to provide dinner for our volunteers during the evening.

Joy for Johnny is a monthly respite ministry for families of children with special needs. On the second Saturday of each month, we host a 4 hour respite evening for parents of children with special needs in our community. The children and their siblings are each paired with a volunteer and we provide activities, games, music, and story time in a vacation bible school like manner. This provides the parents with up to four hours of child free time to spend with their spouse, their friends, or however they wish with the confidence that their children are safe and having fun.
