Who We Are

 As a member of Feeding America, and a United Way Member Agency, Feeding the Gulf Coast works through member organizations and special programs to provide nutritious food to meet the challenge of feeding people who are hungry as a result of systemic poverty, personal crisis or disaster. Feeding the Gulf Coast also educates the public regarding domestic hunger, proper nutrition and other related issues.


In carrying out its mission, Feeding the Gulf Coast is committed to standards of performance and service represented by the following values in which we believe: 

Integrity: We will be open and honest in all relationships, dealings, and transactions. We will strive to earn and convey trust through openness and honesty.

What We Do

Feeding the Gulf Coast, formerly Bay Area Food Bank, serves a 24-county area spanning south Alabama, south Mississippi, and the panhandle of Florida. In 2023, the food bank distributed over 32 million meals to over 800 church pantries, soup kitchens, and other nonprofit organizations throughout its service area. The food bank also operates multiple nutrition programs, including Summer Feeding, Afterschool Meals, Backpack, Disaster Relief,  Mobile Pantry, Produce Drop, and SNAP Outreach.
