Who We Are
Heart for Athletes is committed to protecting youth from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). We provide free heart screenings to teens in the Baldwin and Mobile county area. We typically have 5 to 6 screening events each year at local high schools. Each student participating receives an EKG, and if warranted, a limited echo is performed. CPR and AED demonstrations are also provided.
What We Do
After the sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) of a local Baldwin county teen in 2013, Heart for Athletes was started in 2014 to bring awareness to the issue of SCA in youth. We prevent deaths from SCA through heart screening events and CPR/AED awareness.
