Mulherin Home is looking for musicians of all experience levels to volunteer their time and play for our clients. Individuals with developmental disabilities typically LOVE music, and music therapy is so important to their well being. If you are a musician and would like to come to our home and play for our clients, please email jamie@mulherinhome.com. 

We have indoor & covered outdoor spaces perfect for set up. Our clients love ALL types of music, from Blue Grass to Jazz, Classical, Rock, Folk, Gospel, Dance & Hip Hop and everything in between. Bring a band, or just bring yourself...they will be your biggest fans no matter what or how well you play!

Are you a future teacher, college student or high school student who has a love for History, Astronomy, Zoology, Foreign Languages, Art, Drama, etc.? Do you love to share your knowledge or interests with others perhaps in a small classroom type setting? We have several residents at Mulherin Home who LOVE to learn! We are looking for volunteers to teach classes on various subjects. These are adults with special needs so there is no grading, just learning! Get volunteer hours while talking about your favorite subjects! Classes can be anywhere from 30 mins to over an hour, and can repeat or be a one time "workshop." 

You do not have to be a student to volunteer, and you do not have to be a professional in whatever subject you want to teach. You will have access to a large screen TV if you need to cast photos or videos. Most of them can not read, but they remember and love showing off what they have learned!

We accept volunteers seven days a week 9am to 5:30pm.

We have approximately 10-15 residents who are ready for classes to start!

This is an excellent way to earn a letter of recommendation for college admission or for a job!

We are always on the lookout for volunteers. We welcome any age as long as children are accompanied by an adult. We have 30 residents with a wide range of abilities. You can be paired with an individual or a small group with similar abilities for a larger activity. We accept volunteers seven days a week from 9am to 5:30pm. The following is a list of a few of their favorite activities. Come have fun at Mulherin!

Arts & Crafts  Karaoke  Sprinkler/Water Toy Days Trivia  Board Games/cards  Dance class (ballet & jazz) Charades Dance Parties or themed parties Party games Outdoor Games (we have a volleyball net, basketball goal, bowling games, cornhole, etc) Treasure hunts (they are really good with basic riddle clues) Scavenger Hunts Spa day (foot soaks, peel off face masks, manicures, etc) Story time  Drum/instrument circle (we have instruments) Sensory Activities They enjoy live music of any kind (choral, guitar/instrumental)  Yoga, stretching and low impact exercise.
