Your donations help make their stay more comfortable so they can care for their hospitalized child.

Next time you are out shopping for items for your own home, we would be grateful if you picked up a few things for us, too. You can also host a donation drive for “The House That Love Built” and collect wish list items at your office, church, school or with a community group. Responsibilities to include answering phone calls and directing callers to the correct guest room or staff member, answering the doorbell (our house is under a secure system for entry), checking to make sure that anyone entering our house has the correct wrist band upon entry and if not, directing them to the house manager for information regarding how to become a guest.  Light clerical work during slow periods and assisting staff with small projects such as addressing and mailing envelopes or stuffing our "goodie bags" to be given to our new families upon check-in.

Volunteer: Weekday Food Sorter

Hunger is a real problem; you can work to end it by volunteering as a Food Sorting Volunteer with Feeding the Gulf Coast! 

Feeding the Gulf Coast seeks Food Sorting Volunteers to help inspect and sort food donations, preparing them for distribution to those in need. This includes checking expiration dates, making sure cans are not rusty or missing labels, and boxing similar items together to put on our shelves for our partner organizations to stock their pantries. This project requires you to engage in light to moderate physical activity.

Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy needs assistance with social media marketing and production of a new promotional video featuring our facility, and the importance of our free medication safety net benefitting more than 1464 uninsured patients living in Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia and Washington counties. The video will also feature testimonials from patients, volunteers, and donors about how supporting Alabama's ONLY licensed charitable pharmacy significantly impacts the lives and productivity of the working poor, homeless individuals, and senior citizens in our service areas. A social media recording kit and Apple computer tablets are available on site. This intern will work with the Marketing and Development Manager.

Each year, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society hosts a cycling fundraiser called Bike MS: Tour de Beach.  This event raises over $500,000 for programs, services, and research benefitting thousands of people in your region living with multiple sclerosis. Free event t-shirt, refreshments, and community service hours available.        

 

This year's event is scheduled for Friday September 16th,  Saturday September 17th and Sunday September 18th. We are in need of Volunteer Photographers to help capture the spirit, atmosphere and magic of this event. We have opportunities at the Start/Finish line, located at Gulf State Park.
