Description

We are looking for volunteers who can make a regular (weekly or every other week) commitment to playing checkers or chess with one of our elderly Residents. One-on-one activities are a wonderful way to get to know our Residents and truly make a difference in their lives. Usually afternoons around 1 p.m. work best but the schedule is flexible.

The Little Sisters of the Poor is a home for the elderly poor located in midtown Mobile. We are a non-profit and rely on generous volunteers to help accomplish our mission of loving service to the aging. We appreciate your help!

*Orientation:

All new volunteers need to schedule a 30-minute orientation and tour of the Home with the Volunteer Coordinator before or on the day of their first service.

*Dress code:

YES: Pants, closed-toed shoes, sleeved and full-length shirts, knee-length skirts, or dresses are all acceptable.

NO: Please do not wear shorts, tank tops, cropped shirts, very tight clothing, or very baggy clothing.

Volunteers must be 18 or older or accompanied by a chaperone.
