Who We Are
Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter (FOMAS) supports the City of Mobile Animal Shelter by raising funds for vet care and to subsidize their operating budget. We take pets to offsite adoptions at various pet store locations on Saturdays. All of our dogs available for adoption have been vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received their age appropriate vaccinations in addition to a heart worm preventative. We also have cats available for adoption. They have been vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and have received their age appropriate vaccinations.
What We Do
The mission of Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter is to improve the quality of life for shelter pets that are housed at the City of Mobile Animal Shelter; to find forever homes for healthy adoptable shelter pets; and to reduce the number of unwanted pets roaming the streets of our community by utilizing spay/neuter programs.
If you’d like to find your new best friend and adopt one of our loving pets, come see us at our next adoption. If you would like to help out, but can’t adopt a pet right now, then check out our volunteer page for ideas to help. We are also in need of foster parents for some of our dogs and cats.
If you don’t have the time to volunteer, you can still help with a donation. You can donate from our site through paypal on our donation page. Or, if you would rather donate supplies, please check our wish list of items needed for the care of our pets.
We thank you for any help you can provide and it is greatly appreciated by our dogs and cats in need of forever homes.
