Who We Are

The mission statement of the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama (BGCSL) is, "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." BGCSL strives to enable all young people to reach their fullest potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. We rely on our staff and volunteers to help us accomplish these goals and to effectively serve our youth.

What We Do

BGCSA currently operates (as of 1/1/2026) five year-round traditional Clubs in Mobile and Baldwin counties: the Kiwanis BGC in Crichton, Sonny Callahan BGC in Theodore/Tillman's Corner, Bernard Malkove BGC at Cody Road,  Semmes BGC, and Foley BGC, and two school-sites in Mobile County (Whitley Elementary School, and Williamson Academy).   BGCSA additionally offers several summer-only programs:  Citronelle, Mt. Vernon, and Bishop State Community College (check our website for updates, as this can change).

These Clubs serve youth ages 6 -18. Through these clubs, members learn and develop new skills in five areas: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.

We strive to create a safe and positive environment for our Club members, in addition to building supportive relationships and opportunities for success. By volunteering with the Boys & Girls Clubs, you can help us in building greater futures and transforming lives.
